College receives $20K from the Golden Globe Foundation to support diversity in journalism

The Golden Globe Foundation has awarded a grant of $20,000 to the Cerritos College Foundation. The grant is intended to support the Cerritos College Journalism & Media Studies Department by promoting diverse voices. In particular, the funding will be used to create opportunities for current and future students to study journalism and support diversity initiatives aimed at addressing the underrepresentation of diverse voices in news media... Students and community celebrate Lunar New Year

The Inter-Club Council held a Lunar New Year celebration on February 7 . The event featured booths by student clubs and the Cerritos Chinese School showcasing calligraphy, painting, handcrafts, and fun activities to usher in the new year. Students in attendance also enjoyed free boba.

Success Center open house showcases available services

The Success Center hosted an open house on February 6 to highlight its various services to all students. Despite the poor weather, the Success Center was packed with guests enjoying food, games, prizes, therapy dogs, and live music provided by a student band. Students familiarized themselves with tutoring services, workshops, and a quiet Homework Lounge available through the Success Center.

A Street Car Named Desired

A Streetcar Named Desire coming to the Performing Arts Center

Coming to the Performing Arts Center at Cerritos College, Tennessee William's Iconic play A Streetcar Named Desire is about Blanche DuBois, her sister, Stella, and Stella's husband, Stanley. It's a story about what happens when a woman who fancies herself a Southern belle falls from her state in society and has to live with her poorer sister and her husband. Senior Preview Day is an open house for high school seniors to learn about Cerritos College. More than 1,000 prospective Cerritos College students will join us for workshops, activities, campus tours, and our Resource Fair.
